Job Description
The Paint Prepper plays a critical role in the refinishing process by preparing vehicles and parts for paint application while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming repaired areas.
- Remove and reinstall trim, moldings, lights, and other components as needed for refinishing.
- Mix and apply primers and sealers according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including paint booths and preparation stations.
- Inspect vehicle surfaces for imperfections and ensure readiness before paint application.
- Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of paint materials and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with painters, body technicians, and production staff to meet repair deadlines.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive paint prep or collision repair experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screening
Additional Information
Compensation:
- $21.00 to 24.00 per flat rate hour
Schedule (optional):
- Full Time
- Monday through Friday availability
- Saturday/Sundays off
