About this role

Position Summary

We are seeking a Wealth Planning Specialist to serve as a dedicated planning and investments resource within our Private Banking division. This individual will work in close partnership with Private Bankers (PBs) across our New York, California, and Florida markets, providing sophisticated financial planning analysis and investment advisory support for HNW and UHNW clients. Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Financial Planning

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans encompassing retirement, estate, cash flow, and insurance planning for HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Attend and actively contribute to client meetings, calls, and review sessions alongside PBs, serving as the planning and investment subject-matter expert.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives tailored to each client's goals and risk profile.
  • Identify financial planning gaps and proactively recommend solutions aligned with clients' long-term objectives.

Investment Advisory & Portfolio Support

  • Construct and present investment proposals and pitchbooks covering the full capital markets spectrum, including ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, alternative investments, structured products, and managed accounts.
  • Evaluate portfolio construction, asset allocation, and manager selection in alignment with IDB Capital Corp.'s investment policy framework and individual client objectives.
  • Provide ongoing portfolio monitoring, performance attribution commentary, and rebalancing recommendations.
  • Stay current on macroeconomic developments, market trends, and investment product innovation to inform client conversations and proposals.

Collaboration with Private Bankers

  • Partner closely with PBs in New York, California, and Florida to support client acquisition, deepening, and retention strategies.
  • Serve as an internal resource for planning and investment-related queries, helping PBs articulate value propositions to clients.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including trading, portfolio management, lending, and legal deliver integrated wealth management solutions.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients by conducting needs assessments and preparing tailored planning summaries.
  • Develop high-quality client-facing materials including financial plans, investment proposals, market commentaries, and educational content.

Qualifications

Required

  • CFP® designation in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial planning and investment advisory experience, preferably within a private bank, family office, or wealth management firm.
  • Demonstrated experience working with HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Deep knowledge of investment products including ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, alternatives, and structured products.
  • Strong financial planning proficiency across retirement, estate, tax, and insurance disciplines.
  • Series 7 and Series 65 (or 66) licenses required.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken).
  • CIMA®, CAIA®, CFA®, or other relevant advanced designation.
  • Proficiency with MoneyGuidePro financial planning software.
  • Established relationships within the NY, CA, or FL HNW/UHNW market.
  • Familiarity with cross-border planning considerations for Latin American clients.

Compensation
The expected annual salary for this position is between $130,000 and $150,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
